Our Approach

Each watch that arrives at Palladium receives an initial assessment to determine what work is needed. We discuss our findings with you and recommend the appropriate level of service. Some watches only require focused attention on a particular component, while others benefit from comprehensive restoration.

Our methodology emphasizes thorough work over speed. Movements are fully disassembled for cleaning and inspection. Worn parts are identified and replaced with appropriate components. Dials are treated according to their condition and your preferences. Cases are refinished with attention to original surface patterns. Throughout the process, we document the work and maintain detailed records.

We source replacement parts carefully. For vintage watches, this sometimes means waiting for the right component rather than using a generic alternative. We discuss options with you if original parts are not available. The goal is to maintain your watch's authenticity while ensuring reliable performance.

Dial Restoration

Careful restoration of watch dials that have suffered from discoloration, moisture spotting, or lacquer deterioration. The dial is removed from the movement and assessed for the most appropriate treatment—gentle cleaning, re-lacquering, re-printing, or full refinishing depending on the dial type and your preference. Applied indices and logos are preserved wherever possible.

The Process

  1. 1. Movement removal and dial extraction
  2. 2. Condition assessment and treatment planning
  3. 3. Color matching with factory specifications
  4. 4. Application of appropriate restoration technique
  5. 5. Sealing, curing, and reinstallation

Service Standards

Quality Assurance

Every service includes post-work testing to verify performance. Movements are timed across multiple positions. Water resistance is tested where applicable. You receive documentation of the final results.

Process Documentation

We photograph significant steps during restoration. This visual record shows the initial condition, work performed, and final result. Many clients value having this documentation for their records.

Proper Parts

When replacement components are needed, we source appropriate parts. For vintage watches, this may require time to locate correct-specification items. We discuss alternatives if original parts are unavailable.

Clear Communication

If we discover additional issues during disassembly, we contact you before proceeding with extra work. You receive updates throughout the restoration process and a detailed explanation upon completion.
